In support of strengthening democratic resilience in #Moldova, #EECMD brought together different democracy stakeholders: the technology sector, DemTech entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, political parties, international partners, and donors of Moldova and #EECMD programs alumni from the region. The conference provides space for introducing, discussing, and testing new #DemTech applications that can contribute to a more robust democracy in #Moldova and internationally.
This year the conference is intertwined with a #DemTech_Hackathon organized in partnership with the @Alliance of Democracies Foundation, a non-profit organization founded in 2017 by Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the former #NATO Secretary General and former Prime Minister of Denmark. The Conference will draw on the pool of experts from the Democracy Tech Entrepreneur Fellowship, focusing on its Alumni from #Eastern_Europe.
The two events share common goals and provide benefits from their synergy, as the Conference focuses on the policy side and current DemTech solutions, while the Hackathon provides an IT perspective on possible future tools and addresses the emerging needs identified by participants.
#EECMD plans to make the Moldova DemTech Conference into an annual, regularly recurring event that will spur innovation and facilitate the free exchange of ideas, technologies, and approaches in this innovative field.
