The updated voter information website www.partiebi.ge is online for the 2021 municipal elections

On September 28, 2021, the presentation of the updated voter information website www.partiebi.ge was held. From today onwards, Georgian voters can visit the website and get acquainted with the pre-election programs of the 2021 Tbilisi mayoral candidates. They can choose a topic of interest, select candidates, compare thematically, and decide which candidate offers a better solution.

Five Tbilisi mayoral candidate pre-election programs are published on the website:

Ana Bibilashvili – Lelo for Georgia

Giorgi Gakharia – For Georgia

Kakha Kaladze – Georgian Dream

Tamar Kekenadze – Third Force

Nika Melia – Strength in Unity

www.partiebi.ge is a project of the Eastern European Centre for Multiparty Democracy (EECMD), which Since 2012, regularly publishes the political parties’ pre-electoral views regarding the country’s most important political, economic, and social issues.

The presentation of the website was done through an online platform zoom. Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Georgia, Maaike van Koldam, welcomed the ongoing project, as an objective tool in support of the democratic reform process in Georgia – “www.partiebi.ge is an impartial online platform that aims to help the public make informed choices. This year only five mayoral candidate programs are posted on the website. Of course, it would have been better if we had seen more pre-election programs and earlier. However, it is good that the voters have the opportunity to get familiar with the programs of even those candidates. “

“The pre-election program is one of the most essential parts of representative democracy, which political parties should publish in a timely manner and understandable for everyone. This is what www.partiebi.ge serves – to help voters make informed choices. EECMD aims to support Georgian democracy and democratic reforms. Thus, an important role of our programs is to support political parties that are focused on issues and topics that are important for our society,”  says Levan Tsutskiridze, Executive Director of the EECMD.

Speakers at the presentation were: Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Georgia, Maaike van Koldam; Executive Director of the EECMD, Levan Tsutskiridze; Dean of the GIPA School of Law and Politics, Bakur Kvashilava; Executive Director of the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED), Nino Dolidze.

The project is implemented with the financial support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Georgia and aims to facilitate the creation of pre-election programs by Tbilisi mayoral candidates for the 2021 local elections, as well as to inform the public about them.

From today onwards, Georgian voters can visit the website and get acquainted with the pre-election programs of the 2021 Tbilisi mayoral candidates.
