In modern times, it is challenging to plan and execute political campaigns without the help of technology. Therefore, in the framework of the Eastern European Centre for Multiparty Democracy (EECMD) project – “Democracy Needs Democrats” Georgian political parties received a new application software – Ecanvasser.

The platform is used by political parties in many countries around the world. It is a modern campaign planning and implementation tool that helps parties connect with their supporters and voters and maintain communication.

“Ultramodern digital applications will help them better prepare and manage their internal decisions, create a strong connection with their electorate and obtain more information on the political interests and the demographics of their members, supporters or election precincts. This represents one more step in their journey towards a better fulfilment of their duties in the development of democracy.” – says Levan Tsutskiridze, Executive director of EECMD.

Ecanvasser main features include CRM (Customer Relationship Management) management, geocoding, map visualization, group segmentation. Political parties will be able to build databases by adding addresses and geocodes. Additionally, the Ecanvasser analytics help to understand the community through insights and graphical reports, including campaign development, survey results, and community statistics.

During the platform presentation, the political parties were introduced to the functionality of the digital instrument and other necessary information in terms of ensuring equal participation and openness. At the same time, the importance of digital democracy and innovative technologies in terms of party activities. 

The program was tailored to local political needs with the financial support of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) in the framework of the project “Democracy Needs Democrats: Institutional Capacity Building of Political Parties and Movements of Georgia”.
